Memories of April

Hello lovelies!

This month I haven't been blogging at all - a fact that has made me quite sad this month and made me realize how much does blogging mean to me. I've  really missed spending time thinking about new post ideas and writing posts and editing photos and all that jazz.
Running between my university obligations and my work has made this month impossible for me.
I couldn't wait any longer for May to come and take a breather from everything and being able to catch up with my blog and you lovely people.
Anyways in between all of this mess I had some other happier thing going on and I wanted to share them with you.

First of all it was my 21st birthday this month which was very exciting (I always get overly excited at birthdays), but at the same time shocking, because I can't belive how quickly time is flying buy. I could swear that yesterday I was celebrating my 18 birthday and finishing high school and all of a sudden I'm 21, What ?!
So here are some pictures from that chilled day that I spent with my family and my lovely friends :)

The make-up look
The upper part of my outfit
My mom made this delicious half chocolate-half strawberry cake for me.
Me making a wish :))
It was a lovely afternoon and all I can say is that I am very blessed and grateful to have the family that I have and also be surrounded with the greatest friends that are always there for me no matter what. Thank you, I love you <3 :)

And now something a little more recent.
Today we had a nice family day and decided to spend the rainy day visiting the Arboretum Volčji Potok.
It was the perfect choice for a chilled day. Although it rained we had a great time.
Here are some pictures from today.

This is the first view when you enter the Arboretum. Lots of tulips :)

I love me some trees :)
My favorite part :)
Being goofy with my mom - She's the best!
This was pretty much it for today's lovely day. Even though the weather wasn't perfect, it was a great day for  family and I'm really happy we went to the Arboretum.
If you've never been there, you have to go! It's lovely :)

Anyways I hope you liked this post. It was a bit more personal which I haven't posted one like that before.
Maybe I should do it again, let me know what you think :)

And to end this post I'm inserting an interesting picture. I came across this guitar playing man/woman while we were walking around today :)

Byeee !! :)

March Favorites

Hello Beauty world!
Today I am writing about my most loved and reached for products for the past month aka my March Favorites :)
This time the photos will be a little bit of a lower quality, since my Canon camera does not want to obey me.
Anyways let's just jump into it ;)

Body Care:
1. Planet spa Indulgence - Thailand lotus flower & champagne - velvety smooth bath elixir
I have always been more of a shower girl rather than a bath girl. But lately I have started to get more into the bath/relax regime.
And that is why I have fallen in love with this product. It smells amazing and also the smell is not at all overpowering, it's very relaxing and soothing. And it makes my skin very soft after I get out of the bath.

2. Christina Aguilera - Inspire - body lotion
I've had this product for quite a while. It's one of those products that when you get it you really love it and use it all the time, but than you try something new and completely forget about your previous beloved product. Well that happened with this. This month I "rediscovered" this lotion.
It's a very soft and moisturizing lotion. What I love the most about it is that it absorbs into the skin very quickly after the application.

3. Avon Pur Blanca - Elegance
This is my favorite spring scent. Since I got it I haven't been using any other parfumes and I think I won't stop until I use it up.
I am not very good at describing scents, but I'll try :) It is a very suttle floraly scent, I would describe it as a clean scent (yes as in clean clothes) :D
Well there you go.

4. Avon Senses - mystique-  body spray - sensual rose gardenia, jasmine, peach & vanilla
Oh if I start with the romantic story of how I met Mr. Body Spray, this blog post would not have an end.
But on a serious note though I really love body sprays... A lot !
And this one is just a perfect scent that just reminds me instantly of flowers and sunny spring days. It's just lovely.

Skincare & Makeup
5. Avon Solutions - winter night cream
This has been the prefect nourishing night cream for this month, since my skin has been transitioning from winter into "warmer" spring (it's not really springy yet in Slovenia ... please send us some sun).
It a thick cream that gently moisturizes my skin after cleansing and washing.
I love the softness that it gives to my skin after I apply it, and also I love how my skin feels the morning after.

6. Deborah Milano 5 in 1 BB Cream - for all skin types with SPF 20 - 00 Fair rose
I have been trying very hard to give my skin a breather this month and I have tried my best to use as little makeup as possible. Also I have switched from heavy/full coverage foundation to a light coverage BB cream.
It is a lovely product and I love that I don't feel like I have anything on my skin. It is pretty moisturizing, but if you have extremely dry skin I would not recommend it just because it does tend to stick to dry patches. But that is the only downside. And since my skin has been great and not dry at all I have been very satisfied with this BB cream.

7. Essence kiss care love lip balm - 01 fruit crush
This product has been a dream come true for me. I love a moisturizing lip balm, but it's a whole other world when it's a little like a lipstick and it smells like a bubble gum. That last sentence pretty much explains why I love this product.

8. Essence I <3 Stage eyeshadow base
This Essence primer has been my loyal companion, since I bought it and it will be soon gone. That makes me very sad, but at the same time happy, because I'll get to repurchase it :)

9. Essence Blossoms etc... - multi colour powder/highlighter - Flower Power
After staying matt for the whole winter, this month I decided to switch it up a bit and use some highlighter.
And this one is amazing. Not just because of the cool pattern but also because it has a very suttle shimmer to it. The particles are barely wisible.
I love to put it on my nose, on the chin and on top of my cheekbones for a nice dewy finish.

10. Essence Sun Club - blondes/lighter skin - all over shimmer for eyes, face & body - Ibiza sun
A multi-functional product. Who doesn't love those?! Well I certainly do.
I have been using this one mostly as eyeshadows and maybe once or twice I used it for adding glow to my cheeks.

11. Avon Ideal Luminous blush - Peach
This blush has been my favorite blush for more than a month now. It's is actually a shimmery version of my favorite blush of all time, which is Essence's blush in Adorable.
Just like the name says it is a peachy blush with tiny gold shimmer, perfect for spring. It makes your cheek stand out and gives them a lovely glow.
12. Essence Smokey Eyes pencil - 03 Are you hot?
Yes I am (just kidding).
This has been another rediscovery within my makeup collection. It a very chubby pencil and also very creamy. I love applying it as a base for a smokey eye and also as eyeliner on the upper lash line.

13. Essence Eyebrow stylish set
I have a funny story about this product.
When I bought it I was like oh great it has two colors, I'll probably use the darker one first (since I have black hair) and I can use the lighter for my crease. Well things didn't go as planned at all as you might notice in the pictures.
Anyways this is my holy grail product for brows. It's the perfect brown for my brows and I love it very much.

14. Essence Get big Lashes mascara - volume curl
This mascara has surprised me very much. I bought it just to try it out and it's now stuck with me forever.
I love that it has a big chubby wand, and that it is curled. It coats my lashes perfectly and gives them an equal amount of volume and length.

And that is all for today's post.
I hope you liked my favorites, maybe we had some mutual ones:)
What are your favorites?

Thank you for reading and have a nice day,
Dee.

My Manicure Routine

Hello beauty world :)
How have you been?!
Well I've been great, kind off busy but tonight I have completely devoted my time to writing a new blog post.
I think this one is particularly fun, because it's about manicures. And who doesn't love manicures, especially if you can do them at home.

Let's start with the few things you will need for this part of a pamper day or night:

1. A towel
2. A bowl that is big enough
3. Water
4. A lemon
5. Cotton pads or cotton balls
6. Nail polish remover of your choice
7. A bath cream or oil that foams up
8. A Nail File
9. Cuticle peeling and cuticle balm
10. A base coat (in my case two- one for strenght and the other for a whitening effect)
11. Dry drops
12. A nail polish of your choice

I know I listed a lot of things, but this is just the way I like to do it and it works for me personally. You can skip a few products if you like, that is all up to you.

After getting together all of this things that I listed I follow these steps:

Step 1:

I take my cotton pad, I moist it with nail polish remover and I remove my previous nail color.I think this is the easiest one and also an obvious step.

Step 2:
Fill up your bowl with warm water and pour a little of your bath oil or cream. After it foams up you are ready to soak your hands in it.
This step is going to clean, relax, hydrate and soften your nails. That way they will be perfectly prepared for the upcoming steps.
I soak my fingers for about 10 minutes maximum, also I like the water to be a little warmer because within the 10 minutes it tends to cool off.

Step 3:

After you have wiped your hands throw away the cooled off water and clean the bowl.
Once you have done that go ahead and put some warm water again in the bowl and this time we are adding squized lemon juice. You can add as much as you want to. Soak your hands for about 5 minutes.
This step will work on the strength of you nails. Nail treatments with lemon have actually resulted in strengthening chipping nails after a while. This has worked for me so far. Although I do have pretty brittle nails. And because of that I is really hard to grow them out without breaking.

Step 4:

Here are my nails after the whole soaking process. And now that we have completed those steps it is time to dry them well and file the nails in the wanted shape.
The nails have softened a little because of the soaking which will make the filing very easy and quick.
And after a little bit of effort you will achieve nicely filed nails.

Step 5:

Now it's time to take care of the cuticles. I use this Essence peeling and a cluticle balm. You can use which ever products you have at home for this. A thick moisturizing hand cream does the job too.

Step 6:
This is the final step. After applying your cuticle cream you can go ahead and apply your base coat. What I do (and this makes perfect sense in my head) is I first apply a strengthening base coat and after that dries I apply my pro-white base coat. And at last apply a nail polish color of your choice. Here I used a very soft pink manicure nail polish and I put some dry drops over it so it dries faster.

This is how my nails looked before and after I went through all the steps. They are not perfect but at least with time and a proper treatment they will recover.

How do you do your manicure? Do you go to the nail salon or do you do it yourself?
If you have any additional tips or tricks please tell me by commenting :)
I hope you liked reading my post.
Have a nice day,

Dee.

My Beauty Wishlist

My Beauty Wishlist

Hello beauty world :)

Today I am greeting you with a rather quick post.
Since my 21st birthday is coming up soon I thought why not put up a wishlist on my blog. Maybe, just maybe my wishes will become reality:)

1. Bioderma Sensibio H2O - I got some samples from Bioderma and fell in love with this product. I got only 10ml but I used it for about 5 days. Which is positive I love products that a little goes a long way, especially if the product is a little on the expencive side.

2. Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentrate - I have heard amazing things about this moisturizer. The pixwoo sisters rave about it so much. Also there are many bloggers that have recomended this. I think it is a product worth trying.
Also Erika from Fatalna.si did a review in Slovene click to check that out.

3. Macadamia Deep repair Masque - I used to never use a mask on my hair, but lately I noticed it was dry after rinsing out my shampoo. I have been using my Balea Hair mask and don't get me wrong I love it to bits, but this Macadamia mask has so many great reviews that made me want to try it.

4. MUA Palette - Pretty Pastels - I saw this on Lolistick's Blog (here is the link to the Review-click). I immediately fell in love with the colors. They are lovely for spring and summer. And another positive is that shocker I do not own any pastel palettes !!

5. NYX Blush - Two shades pop in my mind when someone says NYX blusher : Pinched and Taupe. The first one is a peach toned blush that has gold shimmer and the second one is a matte taupe color that is perfect for contouring. Enough said, now shut up and take my money :)

6. Butter London nail polish - Spring collection (pastels)- I have been on the hunt for pastel nailpolishes for a while now and I came across this ones in a video on youtube (it was Lindsay's Nailpolish Collection Video)

7. Catrice Cosmetics - Absolute Nude palette - I went shopping with my mom the other day and we found ourselves browsing through Muller. I came across this beautiful palette and fell in love. Even my mom (who is not so much into makeup as myself) said that I should have a palette like this, because of the beautiful neutral colors. Thank you mom :)

8. Figs & Rouge lip balm - Words are not enough to express my feelings for this product. I fell in love the first time I saw this packaging online. I wished for it to be available in Slovenia and after all those sleepless nights, one day I walked into DM and saw a miracle. They had the Figs&Rouge lip balms and hand creams. I had spent my money on other makeup products which has made me wait so long to purchase this product. But this April you will be mine !! :) And if you wanted to know I am going to purchase the Lemon Berry one :)
Also here is another link to the site where you can purchase them online :)

There, I said everything that I needed to say.
Now I'll be waiting for the genie(my paycheck) to pop out and make this wishes come true :)

Thank you for reading :)
have a nice day,
Dee.
