Winter Picks: Nails

Hello, hello !

This monthI'm starting a new mini series in which I will be sharing with you my most worn Nail polishes/ Eyeshadows/ Lipsticks throughout winter.
Today it's time for lots of nailpolish - 10 shades if I'm more acurate. I love these shades this year a lot cause I love changing up my nailpolish very frequently. Too frequrntly in fact.
Let's be real folks - I have a problem !
Well jokes aside - I don't know what it is about winter but I love wearing deeper tones and all of theese that I picked are truly magnificent.

- Deep Night Tones -

I'm starting with the most dramatic ones.
I discovered Essie's After School boy blazer (btw how cute is that name) last yeat and I've been obsessed. It's a deep blue color, it almost seems that you are wearing black nail polish, but you're not.

Hyde in the park was a recent discovery from one of the LE collecion that Catrice have out every month. It's the prettietst and I love wearing it on a night out.

Essie - After School Boy Blazer; Golden Rose -Brandy Desert; Catrice - Hyde in the park; KIKO - 374
Brandy desert is a vampy berry collor (my fave one for the winter season -  and may I add that I have too many fashion items in that particular color). Enough said !

I picked up this KIKO nail polish when I went to Malta this summer, they had a nice little shop at Bologna's airport and I couldn't resist to pick up a few items to try, since a lot of bloggers have been raving about this brand. I don't have a lot of deep browns in my collection, and this one is not just your tipical brown, but it has copper shimmer too. It's a win win situation for me.

- Winter Shimmers -

There is something apealling to me about having a shimmery nail polish on snowy days. Although there haven't been as many snowy days this winter as I'd like them to be, I still hope for one more "snow storm" just to say goodbye to snow. I love snow can't you tell !

Paralilac is the all year round go to taupe nailpolish for me. It suits my style and it has the right amount of shimmer. I can't remember when I got it, but it was a part of a Catrice LE collection.

Catrice - Paralilac; KIKO - 858; H&M - Extravaganza
I  also picked up Extravaganza on a trip last year when I went to visit Bratislava for a day (I even made pictures for a post, I just never got around to post them - maybe I'll do like a traveling post).
It's a party in a nail polish bottle. That's the perfect description.

This one is from the same trip in KIKO as the dark brown one. I have nothing like it in my collection which with the amount of it that I own it surprises me a lot.
I wish I had an eyeshadow that was this color.

- Warm Afternoons -

When it's too cold outside I like to pretend that I'm warm just by playing make belif with the color of my nailpolish.

Golden Rose - 109; Catrice - Chromeo&Julia; Essie - Twin Sweater Set

I remember bloggers posting pictures on this collection and I fell in love with Chromeo and Julia right then and there. The next day I picked it up. It the most beautiful marble polichrome nail polish I own.

Twin sweater set is an all time favorite for me. It's the first Essie nailpolish I purchased. I love everything about it. It's one of my favorite reds from my collection.

GR 109 - I picked up this one this summer. I loved it all through fall and because of it's warm color I keep reaching for it.

So these were my winter picks, and I'd like to know which are yours?
Share your favorite shades of nailpolish with me in the comments below!

Thank you for reading and have a nice day,
Dee.

My 2013 Favorites

Hello :)

Today I'm sharing with you my 2013 beauty and random favorites.

1. Skincare: My absolute favorite is this Avon Clearskin pore penatrating peeling. I've been using it through the whole year and it has became an irreplaceable product in my skincare routine.

2. Skincare: The L'oreal Hydra Active 3 micelar solution has been a dream for taking off makeup, it is probably the second best thing after the amazing Bioderma H2O.

3. Face: BB creams were big this year too and the Deborah Milano 5 in 1 left a big stamp on me. It is by far one of the best drugstore BB creams I've ever tried. I will keep repurchasing it for sure.

4. Face: Catrice LE Illuminating Base made me fall in love with highlighters and has been my dear companion through this year. We glowed into the night together !

5. Face: I was finally able to try the Collection 2000 concealer. And yes as you all know it is the best ever. I have to get it again.

6. Eyes: The Sleek Vintage Romance palette found it's way to our hearts with it's goregeus jewel toned eye shadows. This palette has became a must have for a night out.

7. Eyes: 2013 was the year that the Color Tattoos came to Slovenian drugstores. Since then I don't think there's been a day that I haven't used these as a base or just on their own.

8. Eyes: Maybelline mascaras have always been my favorites, but the Rocket stood out for me this year. It makes my lashes look great. I love that it gives me both length and volume.

9. Eyes: This was one of the first products I tried from MUA. I love the formulation of this eyeliner. It's creamy and it glides on very well. I love lining my upper lash line for a smokey look.

10. Lips: Another discovery in 2013 were the new Essence lipsticks. I got two shades for now but I'm sure I'll be purchasing more. Very pigmented and very creamy.

11. Face: For pale girls bronzers are extremely hard to find. That is why I opted for this Catrice Multi Colored powder and I use it as a bronzer for a natural sun kissed look.

12. Nails: In early fall I made my first Essie purchase. This one is in the shade Twin sweater set and it is the perfect all year round red color. It's been my favorite nailpolish ever since I bought it.

13. Nails: In 2013 I discovered the Golden Rose Jolly Jewels glitter nailpolishes. I own 4 of these and I love them all but this rosegold one is by far my favorite. If you have the chance to try them please do, you will be amazed.

14. Random: I love when my room smells nice and cozy, I mean who doesn't :)
I love using this Yankee Candle waxes. I do have a little obsession over them which has turned a shelf of my vanity into a mini wax collection. These are just some that I love. I'm currently burning the rest of my Christmas Memories wax.

15. Food: My breakfast consists of coffee and a bowl of these lovely Flakes. They taste amazing and they aren't the worst thing for your body. I love to eat them with milk or greek yogurt and add some banana to them.

16. Food: I do add honey to my bowl of cereal too.
This one has been my favorite this year. I've been through so many that I can't even count. I love honey so much and I sweeten everything I can with it.

17. Drink: My second favorite drink after coffee is tea. And my all time favorite tea has to be this Good Nature - Apple & Cinnamon tea. Those are two of my favorite things combined in a tea. Could life even get better? :)

Those were all the things I loved and enjoyed in 2013 and I'm sure I'll keep enjoying them in 2014.

Are you familiar with this products and if you are, which are your favorites?
I'm excited to read your comments.

NOTD: Rosegold Glitter

Last night I went out for a girls night out and I was really excited to change up my nails and doll them up a little. And what better color, to brighten up a pale complexion like mine, than red. But I had to mix things up a little and add some glitter to it.

How to achieve this look :

Step 1: I applied some nail repair cream on my cuticles and 1 coat of the Essence Ultra Strong- nail repair base coat

If you have brittle and soft nails like me, this product will help a lot by strengthening your nails. And also it gives you a nice base to start of a great manicure.
I've also noticed that some nail polishes that have a streaky application are better if I apply this product underneath.

Step 2: Next I applied 1 coat of the Golden Rose Paris nail polish(no.45) on my ring finger and on my thumb.
It's a beautiful golden color and it makes the perfect base for the rosegold glitter.

Step 3: I used 1-2 coats (depends on the density of glitter that you want) of the Golden Rose Jolly Jewels nail polish(no.103).
This nail polish has the most beautiful rosegold glitter that I have ever seen. It is a mixture of a gold nail polish with gold shimmer and rosegold glitter particles.

Step 4: Last I applied 2 coats of the Golden rose Selective nail polish(no.30 Glam Red) to the rest of my fingers.

This is a red nail polish with shimmer in it. I love it because it is different than my other red nail polishes. It's not streaky and it is very easy to apply. You don't have to wait for the first coat to completely dry to apply the next one, so that is another plus for it.

I love mixing and combining nail polishes like this.
What is your way to do your perfect night out manicure?

NOTD: Bling to my Teal

Hello bloggers and blog readers!
Long time, no see (post) ...
Today I was in the mood to do my nails and glam them up a little, that is why I took my time and painted them in this blueish teal color.

I was away for the holidays and I had a lot of fun, but also I did a lot of shopping, especially nail polish shopping. In those bags were these two nail polishes that I used today. They are both from the brand Golden Rose and were very nice and affordable.
The first one in the Golden Rose Paris nail polish in the color no. 69 - this is a very fun glittery topcoat, because it has a lot of different colors, but when you apply it it isn't as crazy as it seems. It is a nice glitter top coat if you want to pull day and night nails.

The second one is the new Golden Rose Rich Color nail polish in the color 19 - it is a beautiful color and it is teal/turquoise and on the pictures it looks more blue but in reality it has more green.
On the bottle it says that this nail polish is ultra shining and long lasting, it has a maxi brush for an easy application and that you can  getaway with putting only one coat.
I agree that the nail polish is opaque and that it is easy to apply, it is not streaky at all.
It is also shiny, but if it is long lasting we will see in the next couple of days.
I will keep you posted on that matter.

I do recommend you to try out this brand of nail polishes, because I think that you get a great nail polish for a great price.
