My Fashion Favorites: Oscars 2013

I am a huge movie fan and I am obsessed with the award season in Hollywood. But The Academy Awards or as we call them "The Oscars" are my favorite award show and I love it for many reasons.
First I love the movies and watching the awards and all the speeches people make while accepting them, I love the Red Carpet fashion and I always take my time to notice everyone's makeup.
And this year I decided to let all my feelings out about it on my blog.

Fashion Favorites

1.Jennifer Lawrence - Red Carpet Look

Jennifer wore a blush pink Dior Haute Couture gown. This is my favorite dress from the evening. She wore it very gracefully and looked stunning in it. I love how the gown moves and the fact that it is strap less makes the detail on it stand out more.

It was definitely a very memorable dress on the Red Carpet, just like her known red dress by Calvin Klein Collection that she wore on the 2011 Oscars.

2. Jessica Chastain - Red Carpet Look

She wowed me with her gold sparkly Giorgio Armani dress. It was just the right amount of sparkle and the light gold to illuminate her pale skin. Also the cut of the dress fitted her amazingly.
I also love her hair color and how it suits the whole look.

3. Amanda Seyfried - Red Carpet Look

This actress is so inspiring and beautiful. I have watched her since Mean Girls all the way through Dear John and Mamma Mia and so many more movies that I love. She wore an Alexander McQueen dress with amazing detail in a very light off white almost light blue color with white detail on it. I love the flow in this dress and she wore it perfectly.

4. Lily Collins - Vanity Fair Oscar Party Look

A pale brunette in a blue sparkly Zuhair Murad dress is always an eye catcher for me. I love Lily Collins, but I am crazy about her style. She is always flawlessly put together.

5. Nina Dobrev - Elton John's Oscar Party Look

Nina Dobrev is my favorite TV star fashionista. Her and Ian Somerhalder are the most stylish couple I have ever seen.
She screams elegance with this dress by Naeem Kahn. Again this is another dress that is very form fitting and loosens up towards the end. A lot of detail and an amazing contrast with black and white.

These were my fashion favorites and I'm posting next my makeup favorites too.
I hope you like this kind of posts on my blog too. Tell me what you think in the comments.
Thank you for reading,

Dee.

Would you rather TAG !

It's been a long week for me so I wanted to do more relaxing blogs this week and for today's blog I chose the Would you rather TAG !

1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
I would rather lose all my palettes and eyeshadows because I can always use different colored eyeliners to replace eyeshadow, whereas I could never replace mascara with eyeshadows.

2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
I love Rapunzel's hair and I would be thrilled to let my hair grow without cutting it and be able to have a different look everyday so that could be fun.

3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
Coral cheek and I can't really explain my strange obsession with coral but I love how it brightens up my complexion.

4.) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
No doubt about it - makeup.

5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
This one is tricky, I really had to think about it and I think that I would rather apply eyeliner as lipstick, because if I apply lipstick as eyeliner it would run and get messy.

6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
I'm not from the Usa but I think I'll go with Sephora because it has a lot of different brands to choose from.

7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?
One lip color. I think that you can play a lot more with eyeshadow to achieve different looks than if you have only one eyeshadow. At least for me and my features that's how it is.

8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
Summer clothes in winter for sure, because you can layer them to be warm, where as if you have winter clothes in summer it's going to get very hot and unpleasant.

9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
I am really in a dillema about this one but after thinking about it I would rather go with brights, because they make you happy and all the looks can be fun and bright all year long.

10.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
I would give up my favorite lip product, because again mascara is my favorite eye product and I can not live without it, it makes too much of a difference to any look you want to pull off.

11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
I'm going with a messy bun here, because i love how effortless it looks and you can glam it down or glam it up. And it is a little bit better and looser than a ponytail which is a plus for me. I don't know if you have noticed it, but when I wear my hair in a nice ponytail for a whole day at the end of the day I feel that my head hurts a little from tugging my hair. So because of that feeling I am choosing the messy bun.

12.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?
Well this was kind off easy because lately I haven't been using a lot of lipgloss and i've been getting myself more into lipsticks. So my answer is: I would rather never use lipsgloss.

13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
I took the most time to answer and think about this one. I don't think any of this looks would flatter me. But I guess better to have eyebrows than not have them at all.

14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
I can't believe I'm saying this but I would rather live without nail polish. And this is coming from the girl that has a big nail polish collection.
But the thing is I love makeup too much to give it up. I love doing natural looks and bright and fun looks and it helps me express myself I think so that is why I went with it.

I TAG all of you out there to do your own version of this tag and please when you do it leave me your link in my comments below.
Thank you for reading,
Dee.

TAG: 10 VALENTINE’S DAY QUESTIONS!

Hey blogger world :)

It's the most romantic time of the year, it is winter and it is February, in fact tomorrow is the 14th of February or the day known as Valentine's Day.
I just saw this TAG on Elle & Blair's site and I wanted to do it, since it is in the spirit of Valentine's day.

1. What is your favorite Valentines Day treat?
I love something sweet to eat and some beautiful flowers.

2. Sweethearts or chocolate covered strawberries?
Definitely  chocolate covered strawberries.

3. What was your favorite Valentines day memory?
I don't have a special one, because they're all lovely. Who doesn't love spending their day celebrating love.

4. What movie would you rather watch on Valentine's Day: Pretty Woman or You've Got Mail?
You've got Mail is such an obvious pick for me simply because this movie is my favorite movie of all times. I love it so much and I have lost count of how many times I have watched it. It's just an amazing love story.
5. What celeb would you not mind having as your Valentine?
I'd love me some Taylor Lautner.

6. What would you do on your perfect Valentine's date?
Go to a romantic picnic out of town and watch the sunset. And later have some champagne while watching the stars.

7. Red or pink lips on Valentines Day?
I've been obsessed with different red combinations lately, that's why red lips is my pick for Valentine's Day.

8. What is your ideal Valentine's Day date outfit?
I am a hopeless romantic and for my perfect date I would probably wear something more on the casual side but still pretty, and at the same time something comfortable.
I would wear a dress and a cardigan over it and pair it with some ballet flats.

9. Homemade or store-bought gifts?
I love both, but I do think that homemade gifts are in my opinion more personal and valuable and also very memorable. It is nice when you actually see that the person that loves you has not only thought of you and getting you something, but also they have put effort into creating something for you.

10. Would you wear your hair up or hair down for a date night?

I would wear my hair down.

I TAG all of you to answer this questions!
Thank you for reading,
Dee.

January's used up products!

This month I made a new challenge segment to encourage myself to use up more of my products.
So far it has been going great for the february products.
But today I wanted to do a post, because I did manage to use up some products in January even without having the actual challenge.
That is why I'm going to do a quick review and share with you my thoughts on this products.

1. Balea Wasserspray - AQUA
This product has the same effect on the skin as the Evian Mineral Water. The Balea one has also minerals and the only difference that I noticed is that the Balea one is cheaper than the Evian one. I love this product and I can't wait to repurchase it.
Ingredients: aqua, maris sal, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, silica, nitrogen.

2. Rexona Long lasting protection - Clar pure Crystal
It says that it has an incredible white mark protection and that is a 48h active anti-perspirant and has 0% alcohol.
I love this product so much that this is I think my 4th bottle that I have used up. It doesn't leave any marks on my shirts and it really works for me. Even after a workout the smell is fresh. I am really impressed with this product and I recommend you to try it out.
Ingredients: Butane, Isobutane, Propane, Cyclopentasiloxane, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Aluminium Chlorohydrate, Triethyl citrate, Parfum, Dimethiconol, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Triethyl Aconitate, Aqua, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate, Citronellol, Geraniol, Hydroxycitronellal.

3. Essence My skin - Intensively caring cream: For normal to dry skin.
It says that this rich and intensive cream is specially formulated for skin prone to dryness. You can use it in the morning and in the evening as well, after cleansing with Essence My skin products.
I can't list you the ingredients for this product because I don't have the package that came with the cream, but I'm sure you can find that information on their website.
I do recommend you to try this product. It works really well stepping from winter into spring. I find myself using it then mostly. Also I use it when my skin needs a little more moisturizing and it gives the skin a great base for foundation application.

4. Maybelline New York - The Falsies Volum' Exspress Mascara
This is one of my favorite mascaras. I love Maybelline mascaras in general, but the fact that this one has a curved brush it makes me love it even more. I love the application and the volume that it gives to my lashes and because I already have naturally curled lashes it helps me to coat them in the perfect shape.

5. Bourjois 10h Sleep Effect Foundation - for fresh and rested complexion.
I won't go into details about this product here in this post, because I will be soon posting a review on it, since I have used it up. But I will say that this is the second bottle that I have used from this product.

6. Catrice Cosmetics - transparent fixing powder
This powder was from the "Welcome to Las Vegas" collection. It says that it gives a mattified finish and it fixes the make-up. I couldn't agree more. It is a lovely powder. I can't wait to go to the drugstore and repurchase it. Catrice have an amazing selection of products and I recommend you to go check them out. As far as for the ingredients I couldn't read them  because I've used this powder so much that a lot of the information has been erased.

7. Manhattan -  Wake up concealer
It says : Conceals dark circles and light redness - all while making your tired eyes shine. With light- reflecting - pigments. Simply dab on to conceal.
It is light-reflecting and a beautiful product to highlight the inner corner and make it brighter or to highlight the bridge of your nose, but for me it didn't work well for concealing my dark circles. I don't know what it was but I used it very rarely for concealing my dark circles. If you're searching for a dark circles concealer I wouldn't recommend this, but if you want something to brighten up your complexion, than this is the perfect product for you.

8. Catrice Cosmetics - Re-touch Light-Reflecting concealer
It says: Hydrating concealer with light-reflecting pigments. Diminishes shadows, fine lines and signs of fatigue.I am beyond impressed with this product. I did not expect to love it as much as I do. It did an amazing job for me and I am very sad that I used it up very quickly. It is very easy to apply and it has such an amazing finish, it is not flaky under your eyes and you can also use it as I primer over your lids.

That is all for my january empties.
Thank you for reading and if you have any questions or requests please comment bellow or tweet me.
Have a nice day,
Dee.

A Night Out look : Sparkling Champagne

"A night out? A girls night out ?! - Please count me in!"
Yes I love getting all dressed up and dolled up. I'm just a girl that loves to go out with her girlfriends and  talk all night about boys, love, fashion, makeup and all those girly things. And last saturday night turned out to be just that type of nights.

These are the products I used to achieve my look:

1. Essence I love stage - eyeshadow base
2. Essence Superfine eyeliner pen
3. Sleek MakeUP palette - 601 Au Naturel

How to get the look:

Step 1: Prime your eyelids with a primer. I used Essence's I love stage eyeshadow base.

Step 2: Apply a shimmery champagne eyeshadow all over the lid and in the inner corner of the eye. I used the eyeshadow in the color Taupe.

Step 3: Using a blending brush lightly apply a warm beige-brown eyeshadow in the crease to create a base for the darker eyeshadows. I mixed Cappuccino and Toast to get this color.

Step 4: To darken the look use a dark brown eyeshadow with purple undertones. I used the color Regal from the palette.

Step 5: Use any light color as a highlight. For this step I used Nougat.

Step 6: Take an angled brush and a black eyeshadow to line your eyes and flick the wing upwards. For this step I used Noir

Step 7: Follow the lines of the black eyeshadow by using a liquid eyeliner over it. I used the Essence Superfine eyeliner

Step 8: Top it off with your favorite mascara. Mine at the moment is Maybelline's Collosal Volume Mascara.

Step 9 (optional): Under the lower lash line I used Noir in my outer corner, Taupe in the inner corner and to connect them I used Regal

Step 10: Frame your face by doing your brows and choose an eyeshadow that suits you. I mixed up Cappuccino and Bark to get my color.

All the rest is up to you, you can use a bold lip with a pinky blush or just go for a all natural look with a little bronzing powder and a nude lip.

Thank you for reading, please comment below,
Dee.

Essence Nail Art Express Dry drops - Review

I'm always in a rush to get my nails done beautifully and step out, but when you do 2 coats of nail polish it's hard to get them quickly dry and be able to keep your nails done.
And after many "accidents" that ruined my manicure most of the time I decided to get some dry drops.

Essence is my favorite drugstore brand to go to when I need a new product to try, because most of my Essence products have overcome my expectations I have gladly given it the title of favorite.

So I found this Express Dry Drops on sale and I got it immediately.

I got home excited to try it out and started doing my nails. Quickly I got to the point of putting the drops on my nails. As far as for first impressions I did not expect this product to be oily in any ways. The good thing about it being oily was that it moisturized my cuticles and made my manicure look even better and more flawless, the downside was that my precious Cosmopolitan, which at the time I used as a surface to do my nails, was all oily and messed up, also my fingers were oily and I couldn't touch anything.

The next time I found a solution, using a paper towel underneath or a towel.
Otherwise I was very impressed with the outcome. I have been using this product for a while now and I can say that I like it and I do use it when I am in a hurry to get my nails done and quickly dry. It does make the process faster and from that aspect I am satisfied with it.

What the product claims:
"Sometimes every second counts: and with the express dry drops your nail polish dries in just 60 seconds! due to the pipette the product can be systematically and dropwisely applied. and the best: fingernails and cuticles will be nourished with vitamin e and almond oil getting extra shine!"

My comments and final review:
First it is very true that in 60 seconds your nails are dry, but I have to add that only to the touch. It takes a little bit longer to actually start doing something and not ruin your manicure. Though it is also true that it does dry your nails quicker than without using it.
Second I love that they added a pipette and that it isn't a spray one. It has a lot more control over the amount of product you put on your nails, also it allows you to be precise with it.
And third I totally agree with the last statement. It is 100 % true that the product makes your manicure shiny and flawlessly done and it does nourish the cuticles.

If you have an Essence counter available where you're from I recommend checking their stuff.
You could also go to their website and scroll too.
Thank you for reading my post,
Dee.

NOTD: Rosegold Glitter

Last night I went out for a girls night out and I was really excited to change up my nails and doll them up a little. And what better color, to brighten up a pale complexion like mine, than red. But I had to mix things up a little and add some glitter to it.

How to achieve this look :

Step 1: I applied some nail repair cream on my cuticles and 1 coat of the Essence Ultra Strong- nail repair base coat

If you have brittle and soft nails like me, this product will help a lot by strengthening your nails. And also it gives you a nice base to start of a great manicure.
I've also noticed that some nail polishes that have a streaky application are better if I apply this product underneath.

Step 2: Next I applied 1 coat of the Golden Rose Paris nail polish(no.45) on my ring finger and on my thumb.
It's a beautiful golden color and it makes the perfect base for the rosegold glitter.

Step 3: I used 1-2 coats (depends on the density of glitter that you want) of the Golden Rose Jolly Jewels nail polish(no.103).
This nail polish has the most beautiful rosegold glitter that I have ever seen. It is a mixture of a gold nail polish with gold shimmer and rosegold glitter particles.

Step 4: Last I applied 2 coats of the Golden rose Selective nail polish(no.30 Glam Red) to the rest of my fingers.

This is a red nail polish with shimmer in it. I love it because it is different than my other red nail polishes. It's not streaky and it is very easy to apply. You don't have to wait for the first coat to completely dry to apply the next one, so that is another plus for it.

I love mixing and combining nail polishes like this.
What is your way to do your perfect night out manicure?
