Motivational Monday #3

And yet another week has gone by!

So hello again to this week's motivational progress.
I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed with different issues this week, but this book has kept my mind quite sane, since it is something that relaxes me and gives me a bit of quallity me time throught a busy day.

Day 12: Notice goodness

What the book advises: Belive that goodness is all around you and remembering the wealth of it.

What I did: I see goodness in every smile I get just from anyone, whether it's my mom or dad, a friend or a stranger on the street.
Although I think noticing goodness goes beyond all the "in your face" signs of it. It's an act from the heart and it's not only important to notice it but also to try and give it back.

Day 13: Think about your health

What the book advises: Depending on how you feel give yourself the proper amount of tender loving care. Make plans on improving your health.

What I did:Winter and cold weather have brought me a nice little cold and coughing - especially when it's time to sleep. But something as little as drinking tea or a hot cup of cocoa helps a lot.
On days like these I like to eat a bit more fruit than usual, mostly the kind that has a lot of vitamin C so that my enery levels go up a bit.

Day 14: Notice bad moods

What the book advises: Pay attention to the negative feelings you are feeling. Confront them! Think about what has caused you to feel that way.

What I did: It's often easy to let negative things throught the day affect your mood. The hard part is to shake all those triggers away.
Everyone has their own "How to" go from bad mood to good mood.
For me personally is remembering the good from the day and trying to focus on that instead of holding onto the bad things. This is sometimes harder, but possible. Also reading encouraging thoughts helps, listening to music you like, reliving happy memories, etc.

Day 15: Watch how you walk

What the book advises: Instead of slouching walk tall with confidence as if you are walking up to someone you love and you haven't seen them for a while.

- I love this quote so much that I had to include it -
What I did: I'm the kind off person that usually likes to either stare at my shoes while I walk or take everything in and look all around while walking. In both scenarios I dose off and think of different things. I often have deep conversations with myself about life and what not.
When I'm happy or excited I tend to start skipping like a 5 year old.

Day 16: Plan new projects

What the book advises: Keep up with the great idea you had and give it time, stick to it and you'll see where it leads you. Start a book of dreams.

What I did: Accumulating different dreams and hopes for me is like a hobby on it's own, but I have never thought of acctually writing them down. Usually I tend to write projects down in the sense of: redo my bedroom, read a book, manage a motivational board, count your blessings, excercise regularly, be more productive, write a blog schedulle, etc.

Day 17: Deal with fears logically

What the book advises: Don't live your life as though you are constantly being threathend by something bad happening. Enjoy the day and relax and deal with the things when they acctually happen.

What I did: I'm the overthinker kind of person. I like to have quick solutions to everything and anything that may happen so that I can move on from quick things like that faster. But it is true that spending time thinking about what might happen is precious time wasted. It's better to live in the now and draw more positives even from the negative so that you create more positive situations in your near future. And letting go of fear is like letting in everything good that is yet to happen.

Day 18: Allow time to be on time

What the book advises: Always reserve plenty of time which will keep you stress free and you'll avoid being late in varius situations.

What I did: This is perfect for me this time of year. Because of my Uni work, I have a lot of hours to put in by working in the hospital in the diagnostics department. And let me tell you it's so hard to start getting up at 5 am right after the holidays.
I used to be so good at waking up early in High school, it has all gone downhill from then, but I'm willing to put in the effort to get back on that track.

That is all for this week.

What are your upcoming projects, what are your fears?

Do you have any tips on overcoming bad moods quickly?

Winter Picks: Nails

Hello, hello !

This monthI'm starting a new mini series in which I will be sharing with you my most worn Nail polishes/ Eyeshadows/ Lipsticks throughout winter.
Today it's time for lots of nailpolish - 10 shades if I'm more acurate. I love these shades this year a lot cause I love changing up my nailpolish very frequently. Too frequrntly in fact.
Let's be real folks - I have a problem !
Well jokes aside - I don't know what it is about winter but I love wearing deeper tones and all of theese that I picked are truly magnificent.

- Deep Night Tones -

I'm starting with the most dramatic ones.
I discovered Essie's After School boy blazer (btw how cute is that name) last yeat and I've been obsessed. It's a deep blue color, it almost seems that you are wearing black nail polish, but you're not.

Hyde in the park was a recent discovery from one of the LE collecion that Catrice have out every month. It's the prettietst and I love wearing it on a night out.

Essie - After School Boy Blazer; Golden Rose -Brandy Desert; Catrice - Hyde in the park; KIKO - 374
Brandy desert is a vampy berry collor (my fave one for the winter season -  and may I add that I have too many fashion items in that particular color). Enough said !

I picked up this KIKO nail polish when I went to Malta this summer, they had a nice little shop at Bologna's airport and I couldn't resist to pick up a few items to try, since a lot of bloggers have been raving about this brand. I don't have a lot of deep browns in my collection, and this one is not just your tipical brown, but it has copper shimmer too. It's a win win situation for me.

- Winter Shimmers -

There is something apealling to me about having a shimmery nail polish on snowy days. Although there haven't been as many snowy days this winter as I'd like them to be, I still hope for one more "snow storm" just to say goodbye to snow. I love snow can't you tell !

Paralilac is the all year round go to taupe nailpolish for me. It suits my style and it has the right amount of shimmer. I can't remember when I got it, but it was a part of a Catrice LE collection.

Catrice - Paralilac; KIKO - 858; H&M - Extravaganza
I  also picked up Extravaganza on a trip last year when I went to visit Bratislava for a day (I even made pictures for a post, I just never got around to post them - maybe I'll do like a traveling post).
It's a party in a nail polish bottle. That's the perfect description.

This one is from the same trip in KIKO as the dark brown one. I have nothing like it in my collection which with the amount of it that I own it surprises me a lot.
I wish I had an eyeshadow that was this color.

- Warm Afternoons -

When it's too cold outside I like to pretend that I'm warm just by playing make belif with the color of my nailpolish.

Golden Rose - 109; Catrice - Chromeo&Julia; Essie - Twin Sweater Set

I remember bloggers posting pictures on this collection and I fell in love with Chromeo and Julia right then and there. The next day I picked it up. It the most beautiful marble polichrome nail polish I own.

Twin sweater set is an all time favorite for me. It's the first Essie nailpolish I purchased. I love everything about it. It's one of my favorite reds from my collection.

GR 109 - I picked up this one this summer. I loved it all through fall and because of it's warm color I keep reaching for it.

So these were my winter picks, and I'd like to know which are yours?
Share your favorite shades of nailpolish with me in the comments below!

Thank you for reading and have a nice day,
Dee.

Motivational monday Week #2

Welcome back to this week's post :)
I hope you liked the first one, you are free to leave any feedback. I love reading comments!

So this week was a busy one for me. I did a lot of waking up early - that was the hardest, since I got used to sleeping in over the holidays.
I also wasn't too keen on all the University work that people piled on me all of a sudden.

But the great thing is that I have been feeling a bit better and more motivated when it comes to my blogging.
So here is my week through the book or should I say my interpretation of it.

Day 5: Make that call

What the book advises: It encourages you to connect or re-connect to people by doing the simplest things like picking up the phone and calling them up.

- Tea time (My fave is Peppermint) -
What I did: It was a very sunny day.
I had an urge to hang out with someone.
I called one of my best friend who had just returned from her travelung and we met up in the evening for some tee and to have one of those heart to heart talks.

Day 6: Forgive someone

What the book advises: It's as simple as it goes - practise forgivness. With that you get rid of the negativity and everything that is bothering you.

- A beautiful quote from Pinterest -
What I did: Things like forgivness in my opinion don't happen from one day to another. It's a process of letting go and also in a way growing up, learning something, etc.
I thought about it a lot this day and as much as it hurts me to say it, I'm the kind off person that doesn't let go of things just like that. Instead it takes me quite a long time to process what has happend and how to overcome such a situation. But no matter what, the important thing is to get there and let go, even if it takes you longer than you think it should.

Day 7: Think first

What the book advises: Sometimes we speak before we acctually think about what are we going to say without reminding ourselves to think first.

What I did: Although numerous personality tests have proclaimed me being an Introvert, I am quite a chatty person. I also tend to act on impulse and feeling, so those two together sometimes do not do me good if you know what I mean. But chalennging myself to think it out first wasn't a major issue through the day. Doing that when something provokes me or sparks up deeper feelings inside, now that might be a difficult task after all.

Day 8: Today's the first day

What the book advises: Just live in the present! What ever is bothering you decide to have a fresh start at that momment.

- Do you agree? -
What I did: Since I was stressing a lot about my Uni work I needed a pick me up. And in moments like those having the thought about thinking fresh, about a new start, did help a lot. Because you can only help your current situation by being in the now and acting on it now, without thinking about the things that led you to it.

Day 9: Enjoy anticipation

What the book advises: Delaying the small things you enjoy through the day can bring you more happiness and joy than you expect.

- Drinks with one of my best friends -
What I did: Boy is anticipation hard for me. I'm such an impatient person, always have been, at least that's what my dad says.
It was a great day though, since I was anticipating something.
I was waiting for one of my best friends to arrive to catch up with her, since we didn't get to see each other at all over the holidays and all those hours of  waitng for friday night were well worth it!

Day 10: Is your path right?

What the book advises: Being aware of the things you want to change and where your life is going is pretty important. Keeping a journal may help.

- My memoir -
What I did: Last year I got this memoir and I wrote down all the things that I wanted to achieve, just all my general goals in different aspects of my life. As you can see I still have it and I love to write my goals and achievments in it and all the things that come on the way to that.
And about journaling - there is a charm to it and I can exatcly remember the day I started writing. Maybe I'll write a post one day all about it.

Day 11: Revel in sounds

What the book advises: Just enjoy the sound that is surrounding you.

- Ljubljana -
What I did: I always have an alarm set up and it is called Love is easy. When I first set it up I wanted it to remind me every morning of love and just to wake up in a good mood, since the melody is so happy and upbeat.
Otherwise I enjoy the sounds around me, not only on days like this but in general.
Everytime I go from the bus stattion to classes I tend to walk through the center of Ljubljana and I always like to just get my earphones out and enjoy just the vibe while I walk down the bridge. Ljubljana has such an effect on me.

What were you up to this week?
What inspires you?

Motivational Monday Week #1

This year I've decided to do something a bit different.. a while ago I found this little book and had to purchase it.
It's the Everyday Happy: 365 ways to a better you by Jenny Hare and well it has 365 tasks for every day of the year.

As you know this year I'm in the search for inspiration and motivation and I thought to myself why not do this tasks and share my progress with you.. maybe just maybe by motivating myself you might ass well feel motivated with me.

I was inspired a lot to do this kind of posts by Louise from Sprinkle of Glitter, who has also posts that have a different theme every Monday. Also I enjoyed a lot a series by a fellow Slovenian blogger Deja who had the "Monday Funday" posts back in 2013.

Day 1: Do something really active

What the book advises: The goal is to get you in a better mode by doing different activities of your choice to keep your energy up through the day.

- While shaking I made this pic -

What I did: Since it was the 1.1.2015 and the cold outside made me just go to my friends house for a bit I went for an interesting way of being active - that included me blasting Taylor Swift's Shake it Off and literally shaking it off :) I enjoyed it a lot !!
I also enjoyed warming my feet with my new fuzzy slippers I got for Christmas - thanks Santa !

Day 2: Count Small luxuries

What the book advises: The goal is to take a mental notice of all the things you do, even the smallest ones that make you happy.

- A few luxuries of that day : Gilmore Girls, Coffee time with friends (cocoa for me), Purple violets -

What I did: Today was a relaxing day. I spent it watching some TV shows and movies, and just enjoying the free time. It was the kind of day that wasn't hard to count the small things in life.
I went for a cup of coffee with two of my friends and we also had some dinner. We had a lovely chatty night.

Day 3: Assess your energy dips

What the book advises: The goal is to be able to assess when you can push your productivity and when to stop and have a break to re-charge.

- Essence: 02 Baby you're a firework -

What I did: This day wasn't the most productive one for me. I wasn't feeling really good and I wanted to stay in bed. I wouldn't say that I completed the task as I should, but I felt a bit encouraged since I did manage to paint my nails in a lovely fashion.
Back to day 2 -even the smallest things count.

Day 4: Go for a mini-break

What the book advises: The book encourages you to take those necessary minutes and relax for a bit. Whether you're going to stand up or lay down and go to your happy place.

- Caramel latte, The five people you meet in heaven by Mitch Alboom -

What I did:And sometimes things align so perfectly, because finally I was in a great mood yesterday and I'm so proud that I got into that productive vibe. So the task was perfect. I had quite a few breaks in which I drank some coffee and caught up with my reading.

I really hope you'll enjoy reading these posts, because I'm having a lot of fun writing them.
I'm excited to see their development through this year.
Of course as always your feedback is always welcome in the comments below :)

Thank you for reading and have a nice day,
Dee

December Favorites

Welcome back lovelies :)

- December Favorites 2014 -
Today I'll be showing you what I've been loving in the month of December.
There is not much, since I spent almost two weeks in bed being a bit poorly, but that's ok cause now I'm feeling pretty well again.
So without further of due, here are my favorites.

HAIR:

- Balea Hair Milk -
I've been loving this not only this month, but I can pretty much say for almost two years not, it has really become a must have in my hair routine.
I do not only use it when I've washed my hair, but also on non wash days, because it gives great texture to dry hair, not to mention the lovely smell.
I highly recommend it !

- Hair Favorites: Balea Milk, Balea Dry Shampoo -

- Balea Dry Shampoo -
I can go on and on with the Balea brand, belive it or not for a cheap drugstore brand, some products are pretty impresive, and another one for me this month, or should I say even more for my extremly greasy hair, has been this Balea Dry shampoo. It really gives my roots a lot of volume and it stays volumenous through the whole day.
I'm really really impressed with it.

MAKEUP:

- Essence Stay all day concealer -
If any of you have used this concealer you'll know what I'm talking about, It has the perfect amount of coverage and it conceals my blemishes and my under eye circles. I love it.

- Maybelline Colorama Blush 501 -
This plum blusher from Maybelline has captured my heart since I swatched it in my local drugstore, It's lovely for the fall and winter season. And this month it did a great job of creating a healthy glow on my cheeks.

- DVT lipstick, Essence concealer, Essence lipgloss, Colorama Blush -

- Dita von Teese LE for Artdeco -
Since it was December and I felt all captured by the holidays, I opted for this amazing red lipstick. I won't explain too much, because the photo will say it all.

- Essence Circus LE in 01 Applause, applause -
Since some days I wanted an extra sparkle on my lips I combined the DVT lipstick with this res lip gloss from Essence. It's indeed a liquid lipstick, but nevertheless it looks lovely over the DVT lipstick.

- Maybelline Colossal Volume mascara -
I've been a fan of Maybelline mascaras, since I can remember, I think the first mascara I ever purchased was the classic volume express one from this brand. Since than I've tried almost every mascara from their line.
This one makes my lashes really pretty and non-fake, I'm not a huge fan of spidery lashes, so this one did the perfect job, since my lashes still look pretty natural.

- Maybelline Collossal mascara, Kiss Ridge filler -

- Kiss mineral smoothie Ridge Filler -
This base coat was recommended by one of my best friends. I think I purchased it in April and I'm still loving it. It has made a difference in my nails. Especially after I remove a gliterry nailpolish it doesn't scratch my nails as it used to.

RANDOM:

- Yankee Candle: Candy Cane Lane -

- Yankee Candle: Candy Cane Lane -
Who can survive holiday season without some christmas scented candles. I know I couldn't. I stacked up on these especially. I love Candy Canes so this was the perfect scent, since I tend to grab a lot of sweet scents when I like to feel all cozy, It's always either a cookie scent or something cinamonny.

Well that is it for my December Favorites. I really can't belive that it is already January 2015. It amazes me how time flies by.

What are your favorite products? Comment bellow !

Thank you for reading and have a nice day,

New Year, New Start

At the beginning of every year we're all putting so much pressure on the 01.01.20xx year. It's the day of something new, it gives us hope that something greater is yet to come, motivation to do stuff we've always dreamt of doing, we just set so many goals and expectations.
Now normally a lot of people call this behavior quite naive, since usually most people tend to fail their so called "New Year's resolutions". But in my opinion this whole NYR thing is great.
If that's what motivates you, if it gives you hope, than do it. I mean what is life without hope.

Enough rambling ... what I'm trying to say is that I've decided that 2015 is going to be a remarkable year for me, a new start, a first page of an exciting book, and I want to share it with you. Anyway I want 2015 to be the year of change. And if you want to make fun of me, because of my decision, go ahead in the comments below, although I'm not changing my mind ! :D

And I know you're already thinking that everyone says that every year and I have probably said this before.. but this time I feel more determined than ever. I want this, as a matter of fact I need this.
And no matter how many bumps in the road I encounter I'm willing to push myself and not give up, not this time.

One of the things that I have been missing this year is blogging and there were so many times I wanted to pick up my laptop and just write a post, though everytime I would sit down and start, everything that I wrote seemed irrelevant and without any inspiration, it was like I had lost my abillity to write, I felt like I had lost my voice.
Maybe I wasn't motivated enough or maybe I should just blame it on the poor basic template I had at that time (probably I'm always going to think my template isn't good enough), but nevertheless I didn't post anything for so long.
And that leads us to december of 2014  - and there I am feeling poorly and stressed out about uni and all I wanted was to find a way to de-stress and feel like myslef again, and in that momment all I could think about was blogging. It seemed like the only reasonable answer to everything. And I started to reminisce about how much fun I used to have doing this and few hours later there I was with my so called Bloger Binder printing out schedulles and taking notes.
So many ideas were just flying around in my mind and I wrote it all down and then and there I felt like I was back, my voice was back and that soon everything will start hens the concept of the new beginning.

So all I can say in my defence is that my gut is telling me to do something, it's like screaming at me - at least that is how i feel and well for the first time in my life I think I'm going to follow what IT says.

I'm really excited for this year and everything I have planned for my blog and I hope you will enjoy my upcoming posts. Of course your feedback is very welcome and I'll very glad to hear it.

That is it for today :)
Thank you for reading and have a nice day,
Dee
